news.IMCD Italia, a subsidiary of specialty chemical and food ingredients distributor IMCD Group, has agreed to acquire the Organotec's fine chemicals distribution business in Italy.

Organotec specialises in the field of special organic chemical products, fine chemicals and their correlated technologies with main focus on pharmaceutical industry, offering a range of specialised intermediates to be used for new projects of drugs and finished products of other fields.
IMCD Italia managing director Gabriele Bonomi said Organotec is a major player in fine chemicals market in Italy and their portfolio perfectly complements IMCD’s in Italy.
”On the other hand, our expertise and network in other markets open up possibilities for Organotec’s principals to enter new market sectors. These are all the reasons that made IMCD and Organotec a perfect match," Bonomi added.
Organotec will be fully integrated into the IMCD Italia in January 2012.
