Impact Analytical to expand laboratory

Impact Analytical will expand its laboratory space in early 2013 when it shifts to its new location at 1940 Stark Road in Midland, US.

The new facility will provide the additional space needed for Impact Analytical as well as safe, efficient and accurate analysis of customer samples.

Impact Analytical business manager Eric Hill said the new facility is being remodeled to create a laboratory space that is tailored to perform analytical testing services, incorporating design elements that maximize efficiency, safety and standardization.

”The result will be a world-class analytical testing laboratory in form and function," Hill added.

The new location, which is larger by more than 10,000ft² than the existing facility, will house 35 scientists across laboratories to provide elemental analysis, microscopy, molecular characterization, gas separations, liquid separations and thermal/mechanical properties and operate more than 80 instruments.

Impact Analytical has also added two new instruments and hired one scientist in anticipation of the move.

The relocation, which will increase the labs capacity by 20%, is scheduled to be completed by March 2013.

Impact Analytical, which is a division of Michigan Molecular Institute, is a full-service contract analytical testing laboratory.
