Indian healthcare opens ADC unit in Scotland

India's Piramal Healthcare has opened a new facility in Grangemouth, Scotland to manufacture antibody-drug conjugates (ADC).

The new unit has been supported by a £145,000 grant from Scottish Enterprise, reports inpharm.com.

The Scottish deputy minister Nicola Sturgeon has inaugurated the ADC facility, which integrates antibodies to target diseased tissues or cells with chemical active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to exert a therapeutic effect.

The company, which has produced ADC material for Seattle Genetics and ImmunoGen, said the new unit will enhance its ability to supply commercial-scale quantities.
