Intertek Takes Over Divisions Of Ciba Expert Services

Intertek, a global provider of quality and safety solutions to a wide range of industries, has acquired Ciba Expert Services’ Environmental, Safety, & Testing and Regulatory businesses, including Cantox Health Sciences (Cantox) and Ashuren Health Sciences (Ashuren).

Cantox and Ashuren are global scientific research and regulatory consulting organisations providing solutions for clients in food and nutrition, agriculture, biotechnology, consumer products, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Intertek’s scope and depth for regulatory consulting to meet customers’ needs in managing their products in today’s complex global marketplace.

Over 200 specialists located in Canada, Switzerland, Brazil, USA, China, India, Italy, Japan and the UK will join Intertek and extend Intertek services international customers in many of its current business lines, with new analytical services competencies and health and environmental consulting services in particular

Ciba Expert Services adds a major, GLP accredited, Pharmaceutical Services laboratory in Basel, Switzerland to Intertek’s international Analytical Services facilities and new advanced testing services to the pharmaceutical, specialty chemical and performance materials industries in the UK, USA and India.
