WaferGen Biosystems, a developer of genetic analysis systems, has reported that scientists from Kyoto University will use WaferGen SmartChip Real-Time PCR System to identify and compare biomarkers to advance research in regenerating tissues such as bone, cartilage, and muscle, lost or reduced due to various causes.

The researchers at Kyoto University are led by professor Shinya Yamanaka, director of Kyoto University’s Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA). They are using the SmartChip platform to better identify and compare biomarkers, for the clarification of iPS cells.
