LGC Genomics opens new laboratory in Hoddesdon

LGC Genomics has opened new laboratory facility for office, laboratory and warehouse space in Hoddesdon, North London.

The 25,000ft² laboratory, which represents LGC latest genomics investment, will carry out manufacturing operations of the firm’s reagents and laboratory products.

LGC chief executive David Richardson said the new laboratory will allow ten time increase in the company’s UK manufacturing capability.

"Our expanded product delivery capability, combined with an even greater level of throughput in our genomics services division, will benefit all our customers and their genomics-based research," Richardson added.

The company earlier expanded North American operations with a new laboratory facility close to Boston, US.

LGC offers scientific products and laboratory services such as DNA extraction, sequencing and genotyping required for genetic analysis.
