Links launches tablet crushing system to fight hospitals infections

Links Medical Products has launched Silent Knight tablet crushing system to help fight infections in hospitals and nursing homes.

The tablet crushing system includes OxiTitan antimicrobial coating made with safe mineral ingredients with no toxic chemicals or eco-pollutants.

The company said in the presence of interior or exterior light, using a matrix of nanoparticles, the coating is toxic to bacteria, viruses, mold and fungi, but remains safe for human contact.

In addition, the Silent Knight system offers ease of use, portability and a specially designed, tear resistant pill pouch which effectively retains the prescribed medication dosage after crushing.

Links Medical Products CEO Tom Buckley said it’s well documented that MRSA, C. difficile and other contaminates can persist on surfaces, such as bedrails, carts and other areas of repeated staff contact, for extended periods of time.

"The Silent Knight crusher with its advanced antimicrobial coating offers healthcare facilities an additional tool in their fight against nosocomial infections," Buckley added.
