news.Lonza, a Swiss chemicals and biotechnology company, has appointed Richard Ridinger as the new CEO, effective 1 May 2012.

Ridinger will be responsible for strengthening Lonza’s market position in relevant markets, competitive capabilities, and productivity improvement in critical areas.
Ridinger has held several roles at Henkel and Cognis, most recently responsible for Care Chemicals, the sector at Cognis.
Rolf Soiron was acting CEO ad interim, since the end of January 2012, the company said.
Soiron said: "He is a chemical engineer who knows our industries, customers and products. With Richard Ridinger, we were not only able to attract a man of action and team player, but also a winning personality."
