news.Mediware, a provider of medication management software solutions and ClosedLoop blood, has signed a deal to acquire the assets of SciHealth. The acquisition supplements Mediware's software products portfolio. SciHealth is the developer and marketer of Insight, a software package for healthcare institutions.

Insight enables healthcare institutions to monitor, measure and analyse over 1000 vital financial and clinical performance indicators. Insight is installed in over 100 hospital facilities.
Thomas Mann, President and CEO of Mediware, said: “President Obama’s stimulus package has targeted health information technologies, interoperability, and increased efficiency through electronic medical records (EMR). We see the Insight software as an interoperability tool that uses information from EMRs and other hospital systems helping to create the efficiencies President Obama envisions.”
The deal is expected to complete in June.
