news.Merck, a healthcare company, has opened its new pharmaceutical production facility in Hangzhou, China.

Located in the Hangzhou Economic and Technology Area, the facility will package Merck medicines for China and the Asia Pacific region.
Merck Manufacturing president and executive vice president Willie Deese said that the new facility helps the company to achieve its mission of helping to supply quality medicines to more patients in China.
"It also extends our long-standing partnership with the Chinese government and our unequivocal commitment to help broaden access to quality healthcare throughout China," Deese added.
Merck has invested nearly $120m in the new facility.
