Mesa buys SureTorque product line of bottle cap torque testing instruments

Mesa Laboratories has acquired ST Acquisitions' SureTorque line of bottle cap torque testing instruments, which can be configured for use in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food, beverage.

The deal involves acquisition of all the assets concerning the design, manufacturing, sales and service of ST Acquisitions’ line of bottle cap torque testing instrumentation.

With a series of options, the SureTorque line of instruments includes variations, ranging from semi-automated, lower cost versions up to fully automated, in-line instruments.

Mesa president and CEO John Sullivan said the company entered the bottle cap torque testing market in 2009 with the acquisition of the Torqo line of products from Vibrac.

"Our existing Torqo products have gained wide acceptance in the beverage industry, with somewhat limited acceptance in the pharmaceutical industry," Sullivan added.

"The SureTorque products, on the other hand, are widely used in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for quality control of bottling processes."

Over the next three months, SureTorque production is expected to be shifted to Mesa’s Torqo product line at the Lakewood, Colorado facility.
