Ranbaxy (UK) recalls three batches of Pravastatin

Ranbaxy (UK) is recalling three batches of Pravastatin, as the patient information leaflets (PILs) have not been updated to include approved safety warnings.

Ranbaxy is recalling Pravastatin 10mg tablets of batch number 2131768 and Pravastatin 40mg Tablets of batch numbers 2117477 and 2129684.

Some of safety warnings were mandatory and initiated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), according to Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Pharmacists are asked to quarantine all remaining stock of the above batches and return it to the wholesaler from which it was purchased.

In addition, primary care trusts are asked to bring this notice to the attention of community pharmacists, general practitioners, dental practitioners and extended formulary nurse prescribers.
