mPhase Technologies, US Army sign 3-year research agreement

mPhase Technologies, a New Jersey-based product developer for nano-technological projects, has signed a 3-year cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) with the US Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) to cooperatively test and evaluate the mPhase Smart NanoBattery, mPhase’s first Smart Surface technology-enabled product.

mPhase claims that its Smart Surface technology has potential applications within drug delivery systems, lab-on-a-chip analytic systems, self-cleaning systems, liquid and chemical sensor systems, and filtration systems.

The research agreement is supported by the Fuze & Precision Armaments Technology Directorate.

Army researchers will test its new design features, evaluate the prototypes using the Army’s testing facilities at Picatinny Arsenal and check if it is functionally appropriate for DoD based systems requiring portable power sources.

mPhase Technologies president and CEO Ron Durando said the agreement is an important and continued validation of the company’s technology which could be driven into leading edge military applications.
