MRN presents new patient recruitment tool MRN-RAPID

Clinical Trial Support Organisation (CTSO) Medical Research Network (MRN) has rolled out a new patient recruitment tool, dubbed as MRN–RAPID, to enable planning in the run-up to clinical trials.

Backed by PA Consulting-developed social media analysis software, the patient recruitment program will enable users’ to access new information about potential patients, including mapping the geographical distribution of specific patient populations by scanning Twitter, Facebook, blogs.

The new tool can screen the digital activity of patients, to recognize the suitable channels of reaching them, whether it is through key influencers, Twitter, Google adwords, banner adverts and news releases.

Additionally, mapping the competitive background of trials and active recruiting sites, the platform reduces competition for patients and maximizes patient access.

MRN CEO Dr Graham Wylie said that MRN-RAPID can access more than 500 million social media interactions every day, providing a huge database of activity about a trial, target patients and individuals they interact within the digital environment.

"It’s an unrivalled tool for the efficient planning of optimal patient recruitment within healthcare programmes and we’re excited to be officially launching it at DIA," Wylie added.

"By employing MRN-RAPID we identify where the patients are, who they listen to and what they think about trials."

Set up in 2006 and headquartered in the UK, the MRN works with international suppliers to offer a global service offering in more than 45 countries.
