MWV Receives Chain-of-Custody Certifications For Two Packaging Facilities In Europe

These certifications to provide third-party validation of MWV’s fiber sourcing practices

MWV has received chain-of-custody certifications to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification scheme (PEFC) for two of its packaging manufacturing facilities in Europe.

Reportedly, the Graz operation received FSC certification in June of this year, and the Svitavy facility was granted chain-of-custody certification to PEFC in March. These certifications are expected provide third-party validation of MWV’s sustainable fiber sourcing practices.

The company said that in April 2008, MWV has received Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and PEFC chain-of-custody certifications at its North American paper mills and global integrated converting facilities. The Graz facility received PEFC certification in November 2008, and the Bydgoszcz received FSC certification in January of this year.
