New Penn Pharma appoints Truppi as US business development manager

Penn Pharma has appointed Carlo Truppi as US business development manager.

Truppi in his new role is expected to increase business from US companies based in the Eastern half of North America, mainly focussing on Boston, Pennsylvania and New Jersey pharma hubs for Penn’s new Contained Manufacturing Operation situated in South Wales, UK.

The company’s new £14m containment facility has equipment and systems to develop and commercially supply tablets and capsules containing potent actives.

Truppi has more than 20 years’ experience, which includes 10 years in pharmaceutical services and a decade in processing equipment.

Carlo Truppi said, "The investment we are making is set to catapult Penn into new markets by providing key players in the industry with a specialist technology led contained facility in which to manufacture highly potent drugs. I am delighted at the prospect of being at the forefront of these discussions."

Penn Pharma chief executive Richard Yarwood said, "Carlo is going to play a pivotal role in finding business for our recently constructed Contained Manufacturing Operation, which is due to open in Q1 2013.”
