Omnicell has announced the launch of Omnicell WorkflowRx 6.0, a central pharmacy automation software solution. WorkflowRx 6.0 automates the ordering, receiving, stocking and picking processes of medications, to enable pharmacies to increase staff efficiency and improve patient safety, said the company.
With enhanced Intelligent Order Routing (IOR), the WorkflowRx 6.0 solution has the ability to route orders between a medication inventory management carousel, in addition to an Omnicell bar code medication packaging system. This automation allows pharmacists to design their central pharmacy workflow to efficiently process medication orders between their packager and unit dose locations. It also helps in tightening inventory levels, and reducing the accumulation of returns.
The solution works with several types of carousel systems on the market, allowing hospitals who have already made a carousel or packager investment to choose Omnicell for their inventory management requirements.
