OriGene Launches Isotope Labeled Protein Standards For SRM/MRM Mass Spectrometry

OriGene Technologies, a gene-centric life sciences company, has launched over 5,000 heavy isotope labeled human proteins as internal standards for SRM/MRM (single reaction monitoring, multiple reaction monitoring) mass spectrometry analyses.

Reportedly, the newly released 5,000 heavy isotope labeled protein standards, helps researchers to mix the standards with their samples and perform protein quantification without the need of peptide synthesis.

OriGene said that compared to heavy labeled Aqua peptides, heavy labeled full-length proteins can be spiked at earlier stage of sample preparation and would allow more accurate targeted protein quantitation over complete analysis process, from sample extraction, fractionation, HPLC, and MS analysis.

In addition to the initial 5,000 labeled human full-length protein standards, OriGene plans to add to its mass spectrometry offering of custom protein labeling, labeled transfected lysates, and eventually labeled peptide standards for all human proteins.
