P2i, a company providing liquid repellent nano-coating technology that is applied in markets including life sciences, lifestyle, electronics, military and institutional, energy and filtration, has acquired 100% of the share capital of Surface Innovations.

The acquisition is expected to expand P2i’s product portfolio beyond its technologies for liquid repellency, adding functional coating technologies with applications including anti-bacterial resistance, liquid attracting (super wettable), and many others, with this acquisition.
Surface Innovations claimed that it holds 17 patent families that focus on functional nano-coatings obtained using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition.
Jas Pal Badyal, founder of Surface Innovations is expected to sit on new technical advisory panel to provide ongoing scientific advice to P2i, as well as developing new patents and applications for the company.
Carl Francis, chief executive of P2i, said: “As our customer base expands and their requirements broaden, the technology we have acquired is expected to enable us to commercialise new functional coatings that further enhance the performance of products.”
