PBS Biotech to distribute SCRUM’s single-use bioreactor technology in Japan

PBS Biotech has signed a distribution deal to market and sell SCRUM's single-use bioreactor technology used for the growth of a range of cell lines to develop biological drugs and vaccines in Japan.

The technology designed with air-wheel mixing system enables maximum operation efficiency and requires less space.

PBS Bioreactors are scalable from 3lt to 2500lt.

PBS Biotech president Brian Lee said, "We looked for a partner with the expertise and network to bring the PBS Bioreactors to its customers. We are delighted to work with SCRUM to bring our technology to Japan."

SCRUM vice president Toshiaki Shimada said, "There is a continuing trend in the bio industry to adopt single-use bioreactors for both R&D and commercial manufacturing."
