Pfizer Q2 revenues fall

Pfizer has reported revenues of $16.98bn for the second quarter 2011, as compared to $17.13bn for the same period in 2010.

Net income was $2.61bn, compared to $2.48bn for the same period in the prior year.

For the six months ended 2011 revenues were $33.49bn, compared to $33.71bn for the same period in 2010.

Net income for the six months ended 30 June 2011 was $4.83bn, as compared to $4.5bn in the prior year period.

Pfizer president and CEO Ian Read said they will continue to invest in areas that will enhance their presence, expand the breadth of the portfolio.
