Rising Pharma launches generic Grifulvin tablet

Rising Pharmaceuticals, a finished dosage form generics subsidiary of ACETO, has launched 500 mg strength (microsize) of Griseofulvin tablets, which are generic equivalent to Valeant Pharmaceutical's FDA approved Grifulvin.

Griseofulvin tablets are antifungal antibiotics which are used to treat ringworm infections of the skin, hair, and nails.

Previously, the company has also launched the first generic version of the 125mg and 250mg strengths of Ultramicrosize Griseofulvin tablets.

The US market sales for Griseofulvin tablets were approximately $13m for the twelve months ended June 30, 2012, according to IMS Health data.
