Rising Pharmaceuticals to launch Riluzole 50mg tablets

Rising Pharmaceuticals, a finished dosage form generics subsidiary of Aceto, is set to launch generic Riluzole tablets of 50mg strength.

The authorized generic version of Covis Pharma’s Rilutek is indicated for the treatment of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Riluzole extends survival and/or time to tracheostomy.

Riluzole has become the ninth generic product launched by Rising Pharmaceuticals in 2013.

The market sales for Riluzole in the US were around $64m for the twelve months ended on 31 December 2012, as per IMS Health data.
