SafeCode Drug Technologies to develop first product prototype

The voice recognition technology was designed to confirm prescription medications before administration at home or in medical center, thereby preventing medication errors.

SafeCode technology provides access to prescription medications that are preserved in a specially designed locked container only when the name of the drug is announced exactly.

SafeCode Drug Technologies chief executive officer Joel Klopfer said a manufacturer will be signing a contract shortly, allowing the development of first product prototype.

"There is a large addressable market for this technology due to the thousands of deaths each year related to medication errors," Klopfer added.
