news.Sanford USD Medical Center in South Dakota, US, has adopted McKesson's pharmacy automation solution to help improve productivity and point-of-care medication safety at its facility.

The pharmacy automation solution is said to optimize medication ordering, dispensing, administration, charge capture, and inventory management processes.
In addition, the medical center is also using McKesson’s ROBOT-Rx solution to automate the storage, dispensing and restocking of majority of its pharmacy medications, MedCarousel dispensing systems for cart-fill and first doses, and PACMED automated bar-code packaging solution.
The bar-code scanning technology will help minimize medication errors and enable efficient care delivery.
McKesson’s solutions will enable pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and clinicians to provide safer medication and better care, the company claimed.
