news.Schiff Nutrition Group, a subsidiary of Schiff Nutrition International, has taken over exclusive rights of Ganeden Biotech's probiotic technology, GanedenBC and two brands: Sustenex and Digestive Advantage, for $40m.

Schiff Nutrition International develops, manufactures, markets and distributes branded and private label vitamins, nutritional supplements and nutrition bars in the US and throughout the world.
The agreement allows Schiff to use the probiotic technology GanedenBC30 in the over-the-counter and dietary supplement space and to own brands like Sustenex and Digestive Advantage under which BC30 is sold.
Schiff Nutrition CEO Tarang Amin said that the company focuses to deliver shareholder value by building premium brands and leading innovation.
"By acquiring the rights to the probiotics technology, we have entered a new, expanding category that creates accretive growth opportunities," Amin said.
