Scientific Industries has acquired from Fluorometrix its license from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and related sublicenses, including one with the company with respect to patents related to the design, development and sale of bioprocessing products, systems and methods.

In addition, Scientific Industries has engaged the seller to perform research and development services with respect to bioprocessing products and has entered into a non-competition agreement with seller’s affiliates.
Scientific Industries president and CEO Helena R Santos said the acquisition of licenses reflects a product line diversification with considerable growth potential.
Scientific Industries’ products are generally used for research purposes in laboratories of universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, chemical companies and medical device manufacturers.
