Eric Shinseki, secretary of Veterans Affairs, is planing to lease 2.4 acres to a private-sector medical facility. The lease is in exchange for construction of building for the Department of Veterans Affairs at Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center. The building is expected to cover 30,000sft and will be built in Albany, New York.
The building will function as the administrative functions and training centre, which will be used by Veterans Affairs. This project intends to free up space for Veterans’ clinical services in the campus.
Mr. Shinseki said: This is a win-win situation for Veterans and for the community. As we modernize VA moving toward a 21st century organization, we will continue to look for collaboration opportunities to play an important role in expanding services for Veterans.
