news.Shire Pharmaceuticals and Aegis Analytical have entered into an agreement, under which Shire will use Aegis' Discoverant as its data analysis, management and reporting solution for product scale-up and production.

Aegis claims that Discoverant offers on-demand access, contextualization, analysis and reporting for all manufacturing, quality and process development data.
Under the agreement, Shire will utilize Discoverant to manage its relationships with contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) by simplifying collaboration and data sharing.
Aegis president and CEO Robert Di Scipio said Discoverant provides life sciences companies like Shire with the critical process data they need to improve process quality and mitigate risk.
"Access to data is especially important to improving process predictability, quality and yield when manufacturing sites are geographically dispersed and include CMOs," Scipio said.
