Silicon opens laboratory facilities in San Diego

Silicon Biosystems has opened laboratory facilities in San Diego on the La Jolla Torrey Pines mesa, to support expansion in the US market.

The combined offices and laboratories will allow the company to leverage the capabilities of the DEPArray system in the recovery of single pure cells by offering a rare cell sample processing as a fee-for-service.

Clients interested in collecting specific cell populations, including CTCs, for clinical studies or biomarker discovery will be able to send samples to Silicon’s lab.

Single pure cells or cellular content will be returned for downstream analyses, such as sequencing or expression profiling.

Silicon Biosystems US operations president and general manager Bob Proulx said, "Having laboratory and office space in San Diego, one of the top global biotechnology hubs, gives us the ability to showcase the unique benefits of our DEPArray system and offer specialized services to our customers in the U.S."
