SIRO Clinpharm, a contract research organisation (CRO) with its base in India, US, Europe and Israel has announced expansion of its Clinical Trials Supplies facility in Mumbai, India.
The expansion is reportedly fuelled by a demand by pharma and biotech companies for storage and distribution of clinical trial supplies.
Jayanti Vaidyanath, vice president of administration, legal & clinical trials supplies management at SIRO, said: “We opened our clinical trials supplies warehouse in 2003 with a modest area of 1800 sq ft. Those days we were one of the few CROs based out of India to have such a facility. Now, with expanded facility, we have a bigger area of 6200 sq ft with room for further expansion. We currently have two walk in cold rooms at 2-8 degree storage, ambient storage at 15-25 degrees and storages for temperature ranges between -20 and -70 degrees. We have also significantly strengthened our inventory management process using the recently implemented Oracle Siebel CTMS tool.”
Ajit Nair, president for India Operations at SIRO, said: “The facility expansion will enable us to handle many more orders thus increasing our ability to serve wider client base’. Very recently we have partnered with a global leader in logistics to support them in Clinical Trials Supplies management in India. This broadens our scope by making us a part of their global storage and distribution network and increases the platform to work on for our international pharma and biotech clients.”
