news.Pharmaceutical testing equipment manufacturer Sotax Group has purchased Dr Schleuniger Pharmatron to boost its global capabilities as a solution provider for the pharmaceutical industry and equipment maker for testing physical properties of medicines.

The acquired company operates in the areas of engineering and manufacturing of equipment for the physical testing of pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, ampules, and other solid dosage forms.
Dr. Schleuniger Pharmatron’s Manchester operations will be integrated into the Westborough based Americas organization of Sotax, while its Switzerland site will remain as a separate entity and serve as the acquirer’s physical testing business center.
Commenting on the acquisition, Sotax Group CEO Thomas Pfammatter said that the transaction will complement its existing product lines, which will ensure sustainable growth in the pharma testing industry.
Dr Schleuniger Pharmatron board chairman and CEO Martin Strehl said as a part of Sotax Group, the company expects to explore new opportunities to better serve customers and partners.
Following the completion of acquisition, the acquirer will leverage Dr Schleuniger’s extensive worldwide sales and service network as well as product and application specialists.
