Source BioScience opens new Tramore DNA sequencing laboratory in Ireland

Source BioScience has opened a new laboratory in Tramore, County Waterford, expanding its DNA sequencing service in Ireland.

The new Tramore laboratory, which is key to the growth of the company’s DNA sequencing service in Ireland, is positioned between Cork and Dublin, providing an opportunity to expand the Overnight Shipment service to all areas of the country, allowing customers across Ireland to access their sequencing data within 24 hours.

The new laboratory complements the company’s existing controlled environment storage facility in Tramore, which provides IMB certified, GMP accredited stability storage at all ICH conditions, custom stability conditions and -80°C ultra-low temperature storage to customers in Ireland.

The company designs and manufactures its own stability storage rooms and cabinets, ensuring the highest specification and service standards.

Source BioScience CEO Nick Ash said the investment shows the company’s long term commitment to Ireland.

"The country has a vibrant and growing life sciences and pharmabiotech industry, with some of the biggest names in the world located here," Ash said.

"Tramore is a friendly community which supports local business and is a great place to work. We are delighted to be a part of this prosperous, growing region."
