Stem Cell has issued two patents in India, Indian Patent No. 229684 entitled – Combined Regulation of Neural Cell Production, and Indian Patent No. 229924 entitled – A Composition for Increasing Neural Stem Cell Number and In Vitro Method of Using the Same.
The company said that these two patents cover pharmaceutical compositions for increasing neural stem cell number, or for producing specialized neural stem cell progeny. The compositions comprise prolactin in combination with other neural stem cell proliferating agents or differentiating agents, such as erythropoietin.
Alan Moore, President and CEO of Stem Cell, said: Overall, India is playing a valuable role in our development programs. It is therefore increasingly important to address intellectual property issues in India. These two patents are part of that process.
