news.Stiefel, a GSK company, has introduced two Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) Acne Wash formulations PanOxyl 4% and 8% BPO Acne Creamy Washes for over-the-counter (OTC) use in the US.

Stiefel said PanOxyl Acne Management product line offers different formulations for the treatment and prevention of acne on the face, chest and back.
PanOxyl 4% and 8% formulations feature a patented delivery system including Dimethyl Isosorbide (DMI) that solubilizes BPO and reduces particulate-based skin irritation and inflammation commonly seen with conventional BPO formulations.
Reportedly, the products will be available for shipment in May 2011.
