The Urology Company vaginal dryness treatment gets UK NHS approval

The Urology Company's vaginal dryness treatment Hyalofemme has received approval from the UK National Health Service (NHS) Business Services Authority for reimbursement under an NHS prescription.

Hyalofemme is a proprietary gel formulation of hyaluronate, a naturally occurring polysaccharide with moisturising and lubricating properties.

Hyalofemme has been shown to be effective when used 3 times per week in reducing the symptoms of atrophic vaginitis and is well accepted by patients.

In an international study, Hyalofemme was found to be as effective as a hormonal preparation.

Plethora chairman Bill Robinson said they believe that Hyalofemme will be an important treatment for atrophic vaginitis and the NHS’ decision should enable large numbers of patients to access this effective remedy.

The Urology Company is a subsidiary of UK based speciality pharmaceutical company Plethora Solutions.
