TSCA reform, political changes are hot topics at GlobalChem 2009

EHS&S staff from across the international chemical community gathered this week at GlobalChem 2009 in Baltimore, MD April 6-8 to discuss some of the most pressing issues of the day.

Industry, nonprofit and government experts shared their insights on a variety of topics, including the future of chemicals management and TSCA reform, coping with the latest Global Harmonization System (GHS) and OSHA changes, what to expect from the next phase of International Conference on Chemical Management (ICCM) meetings and trends in state regulations and nongovernmental activity.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in an optional TSCA workshop in addition to two full days of sessions on chemical regulations and programs, including TSCA, REACh, the upcoming ICCM-2, ChAMP program and major EPA developments in nanomaterials management and risk screening models.

In addition to a number of educational sessions, attendees also enjoyed breakfast and networking lunches in the expo hall, complimentary wireless access throughout the convention area sponsored by Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. and an evening reception on the first day of sessions at the National Aquarium, also sponsored by Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. Other sponsors of GlobalChem 2009 were ICIS and Keller and Heckman LLP.
