US court vacates temporary restraining order on Lilly in Amylin case

The US District Court has given verdict in favour of Eli Lilly by lifting a temporary restraining order by rejecting request from Amylin Pharmaceuticals for imposing restrictions on Lilly's diabetes sales force.

Amylin recently filed litigation involving the two companies’ diabetes collaboration agreement.

Lilly senior vice president and general counsel Robert Armitage said they have complied with their contractual obligations under their agreements with Amylin, and done so in a manner fully consistent with all applicable laws.

"We believe that Amylin’s allegations against Lilly are entirely without merit and we expect to prevail in this litigation," Armitage said .

Lilly Diabetes president Enrique Conterno said they are offering a treatment options, including new therapies, to people with diabetes and their health care providers.
