  • Malvern Instruments Sponsors UK Colloids 2011

Malvern Instruments is a major sponsor for UK Colloids 2011, a new international colloid and surface science symposium that takes place in London, UK, from 4-6 July. The event, jointly organized by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Colloid and Interface Science Group and the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) Colloid and Surface Science Group, is an opportunity for researchers to discuss current issues in the field. Scientists from Malvern will take an active role in the conference itself and part of Malvern’s support for the meeting includes sponsorship of the poster prize.

  • Malvern Zetasizer Nano Shows Aptitude for Interdisciplinary Research at Purdue

Researchers at the Birck Nanotechnology Center (BNC) within Purdue University’s unique Discovery Park, are finding the Malvern Instruments Zetasizer Nano particle characterization system is ideally suited to the center’s interdisciplinary research environment. The system is housed within the Chemical Nanotechnology/Microfluidics laboratory and users range from those who are highly experienced with the instrument to complete novices.

  • GoIndustry DoveBid Continues to Provide One of the Leading Global Equipment Marketplaces as it Celebrates 300th BioPharma Exchange Auction

GoIndustry DoveBid, a leading provider of asset management, valuation and disposition solutions for industrial companies, will be conducting its 300th BioPharma Exchange via an online auction (www.go-dove.com/bio). This milestone demonstrates the continuing strong demand for a quality second-hand equipment marketplace focused on the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The adoption of the BioPharma Exchange program has not been limited to the United States; in 2010 buyers from over 70 countries came to the BioPharma Exchange to purchase equipment. In 2007, we established regional exchange programs in Europe and Asia to meet the demand from buyers and sellers.

  • Olink Biosciences Introdes its New Plasma Biomarker Discovery Services

Olink Biosciences now offers a new research service, Plasma Biomarker Discovery Service. Using the multiplexed PLA immunoassay platform, up to 74 potential cancer biomarkers are analyzed with high sensitivity in precious biobanked plasma samples, in no more than 2 um of sample. the Plasma Biomarker Discovery Service will help scientists in industry and academia to identify novel biomarkers and contribute to the understanding of human cancer and improved diagnosis.

  • Olink Bioscience Introduces a New and Improved Duolink Product Line

Olink Bioscience expands its product portfolio by launching three new products, the Duolink® II reagent kit, Duolink® ImageTool, and Duolink® II Probemaker. The original Duolink product line, introduced on the market in 2007, has been well received by academic labs and pharma companies for its unique and enabling features to visualize and locate native protein-protein interactions and low abun-dant proteins in fixed cells and tissues. The new, updated version of the Duolink kit offers the same unique features but is faster, better and more convenient. Together with the Im-ageTool and Probemaker Olink Bioscience is now able to offer a complete solution, from detection to image analysis, for the protein research community where these powerful tools will help elucidate disease mechanisms and signaling pathways, leading to the development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics.

  • Olink Bioscience Launches the New PROSEEK Reagent Kit, the ELISA

Olink Bioscience launches a new product, Proseek, today. Proseek is a user-friendly open assay development reagent kit for the detection and quantification of proteins in serumsor plasma samples. It offers the same level of performance as ELISA, but uses extremely low sample volumes; 1ul is required for each reaction thus enabling the scientist to study precious bio-banked materials and plasma from small laboratory animals. The kit allows researchers to combine their antibodies with Proseek to convenirntly set up their own specific assays.
