VERTIS pays special attention to the analysis of bacterial transcriptomes. The preparation of high-quality cDNA from bacteria is highly demanding because the bacterial mRNA (messenger RNA) is very unstable, and due to the absence of 3' poly(A) tails, its enrichment is much more challenging.
VERTIS is a pioneer in the analysis of bacterial transcriptomes. As such, we have developed efficient techniques which allow a very accurate and deep analysis of bacterial whole transcriptomes, small regulatory RNAs (RNome), as well as transcription start sites (TSS) (see Sharma CM et al. 2010, The primary transcriptome of the major human pathogen Helicobacter pylori. Nature 464:250-255).
