Whether to develop novel compounds by biosynthetic engineering (i.e. manipulation of biosynthetic enzymes and/or pathways), or to develop improved strains by manipulating key metabolic pathways, ACIES BIO uses state-of-the-art microbiology and molecular biology methods, including recombineering approaches, aided by systemic principles of genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics.

Synthetic biology approaches are also used by ACIES to develop new metabolic pathways for sustainable production of high-value compounds/chemicals.
