QC Testing

With our knowledge of analytical chemistry and our range of instrumental techniques, we believe that we can undertake the vast majority of the chemical tests listed within the pharmacopoeia monographs.

Method Development

Experience of developing methods for testing drug products, API’s impurities and excipients for a variety of industries plus facilities to undertake stress testing for the development of stability indicating methods.

Method Validation

We are happy to validate methods developed inhouse, client supplied methods or published methods such as pharmacopoeia monographs.

Stability Testing

We can provide onsite conditions

  • 25°C/60%RH
  • 30°C/65%RH
  • 40°C/75%RH
  • Photo stability

GLP Projects

In 1989 Butterworth became a member of the UK Good Laboratory Practice Compliance Programme and continues this status for Analytical Chemistry and Phys/Chem

Additional Services

Whilst specialising in pharmaceutical analysis we also have the capability and experience to undertake other fields of analysis.

  • Bespoke Analysis & Crises Cover
  • Patent Litigation/Insurance Claims
  • Independent Arbiter
  • Process & Cleaning Validation

TECHNIQUES

Chromatography

Fitted with a variety of detectors we have various instrument techniques available and used for qualitative and quantitative analysis. These include GC-MS, GC, HPLC and IC.

In addition classical techniques available include: Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Paper Chromatography and Column Chromatography

Atomic Spectroscopy

Primarily used for metals analysis the use of ICP extends the range to non-metallic elements such as Sulfur and Phosphorus. Techniques available include: ICP-MS, ICP-OES and AAS.

Molecular Spectroscopy

Techniques include: FTIR, UV/VIS and Fluorimetry

General & Wet Chemistry

All our analysts are trained in both gravimetric and titrimetric techniques along with colorimetry, to enable them to perform a wide range of qualitative and quantitative tests.

Phys/Chem Testing

The term Phys/Chem Testing is taken from the GLP regulations and OECD guidelines for the testing of chemicals and refers to the determination of physical-chemical properties of materials.

Elemental Microanalysis

A fast, accurate and cost effective technique that can provide crucial information on the purity and composition of many types of material.
