Robust construction, full-stroke open-bore flow and elimination of dead-space in the vessel outlet make SchuF ram bottom outlet valves highly suitable for fast draining of vessels, especially with more viscous media.

SchuF ram valves have seen extensive service in the bulk pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries. They are often used in the production of core active-ingredient acids and vitamins. The Type 28 Bottom outlet valve with Stainless Steel, Hastelloy (or other alloy) body and trim provides a solution where customers require a flush-mounted, custom-fit valve with high corrosion resistance and complete operational reliability. Bespoke design requirements can be incorporated into each valve alongside tried and tested standard design features. Ram valves are particularly suitable for processes involving highly viscous materials, or where rapid vessel drainage is desirable. There are a variety of sealing options available in terms of the sealing point (at the top of the vessel nozzle or lower in the valves itself) and the seal itself can be provided via a PTFE sealing ring or a hard-faced metal-to-metal seal. Actuation can be manual, pneumatic, electric or hydraulic. Further customisation and features (such as PAT functionality) are also available.
