The incorporation of fluorinated units into organic molecules can profoundly alter their physical, chemical and biological properties. Recently, Schiesser and coworkers from AstraZeneca showed that N-trifluoromethyl azoles possessed high hydrolytic, chemical, and metabolic stabilities. Moreover, Ntrifluoromethyl azoles can be considered as stable, more lipophilic surrogates for popular N-methyl azoles in medicinal chemistry. In this context, Enamine developed a mini-library of N-trifluoromethyl azoles available from stock on a gram scale.
