This innovation, Radiology Imaging for the Surgical Environment (RISE), uses the company’s visualization and informatics technologies to provide a complete solution that enables real-time, interactive consultation for medical professionals in the operating room (OR), said NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi).
Digital orthopedic templating on X-ray images are traditionally completed outside the OR. Using RISE, these images can be transferred easily to a boom or cart mounted surgical display in the OR, the company said. Additionally, these high-resolution grayscale images can be accessed instantaneously and reviewed side-by-side a live HD feed from an orthopedic video camera, raising clinical confidence for orthopedic procedures and beyond, according to the company.
Dhiraj Carumbaya, vice president of marketing at NDSsi, said: “RISE innovation from NDSsi breaks traditional boundaries and allows transfer of high-resolution digital images from radiology reading straight to surgical displays in the OR, providing significant procedural efficacies.”
