Bioject extends supply agreement with Ferring Pharmaceuticals

Bioject Medical Technologies, a developer of needle-free injection therapy systems, has extended its supply agreement with Ferring Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company, for the sale of its needle-free drug vial adapters.

The new agreement extends the most recent agreement for an additional three years with two consecutive one year renewal options.

The Bioject drug vial adapter is a needle-free FDA 510(k)-released product. This vial adapter allows withdrawal of medication, withdrawal and transfer of diluents and reconstitution without the use of a needle. The non-sharps plastic device is used with Ferring’s proprietary drug.

Ralph Makar, president and CEO of Bioject, said: “We look forward to continuing our positive relationship with Ferring Pharmaceuticals and are pleased that they have decided to extend utilization of our unique needle-free vial adapter technology for another three to five years.

“The vial adapter offers many improvements and advantages to accessing medication and reconstitution of medication without the use of a needle and we have shown this to be very successful in other applications.”
