news.Cytomedix, a biotechnology company, has appointed Eric Winzer to its board of directors. Mr Winzer will also serve as audit committee chairman and the audit committee financial expert. Mr Winzer's appointment follows the recent additions of Stephen Keith and David Jorden to the company's board.

Mr Winzer has served as executive vice president and CFO of Avalon Pharmaceuticals since July 2007. Dr Keith assumed the position of president and COO of Panacea Pharmaceuticals in 2006. Mr Jorden was most recently with Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management group where he was responsible for equity portfolio management for high net worth individuals.
