RSDecon wins CE Mark for chemical warfare agent

RSDecon, a business of Bracco Diagnostics, and a global diagnostic imaging company, has received the European CE Mark for its RSDL chemical warfare agent skin decontamination lotion.

A patented, broad-spectrum liquid chemical warfare (CW) agent decontaminant, RSDL neutralizes or removes CW agents and T2 toxin from skin on contact, leaving a non-toxic residue that can be rinsed off with water, the company said.

Receipt of the CE Mark certifies that RSDL met stringent EU medical device requirements, has been labeled safe for its intended use, and can now be circulated freely within the 27 EU members. The FDA and Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration have also cleared RSDL.

Bill Scott, senior director of sales at RSDecon, said: “The CE mark enables us to more easily put RSDL into the hands of those who truly need it. As global terrorism continues to rise, accessibility to RSDL is vital for all military personnel and first responders around the world.”
