National Institute for Health Research taps QlikView to boost clinical trial progressions

National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network has started using QlikView Business Discovery platform, with a strategy to integrate data and boost the performance of supporting clinical researches.

Using the platform, the institute exploits existing study data, so that more informed decisions can be made about the placement and management of studies, based on key factors including patient populations and clinical expertise.

Such information is available on mobile devices and can be shared to furnish the improved performance of clinical research in the NHS.

QlikView empowers the institute to get a full view of study metrics in one central, easily accessible location also known as the Open Data Platform (ODP), thus saving significant time of its employees.

For most logistical decisions, the ODP on QlikView can show where trained diabetes nurses are and then this information is used by the team to recommend the most appropriate location for running effective diabetes research in the NHS.

NIHR Clinical Research Network CIO Richard Corbridge said that QlikView is helping the company to turn data into information that enables insight and delivers business intelligence.

QlikTech has built the self-service BI category, which enables users to explore information freely and is suitable for both SMB and the largest global enterprise.
