news.Instruments and assays manufacturer, Luminex Corporation has extended the global supply and distribution agreement with Merck’s life science division EMD Millipore.

The agreement will help in the development of life science and protein assays by EMD Millipore for Luminex’s flexible platform.
Under the terms of the agreement, EMD Millipore will continue offering Luminex with its xMAP systems that include MAGPIX, Luminex 100/200, and FLEXMAP 3D.
Luminex operations senior vice president Michael Pintek said, "EMD Millipore’s broad selection of protein biomarkers in diverse research areas such as cancer, cell signaling, cellular metabolism, and immunology reflects their leadership in the life science research market."
EMD Millipore life sciences business head John Sweeney said, "This renewal of our partnership with Luminex ensures that EMD Millipore can provide customers with a complete solution for multiplexed protein detection — encompassing assay kits, instruments, software and services — that will support them over the years."
EMD Millipore has recently unveiled the availability of Milliplex map human stem cell pluripotency kits and Milliplex map kits for cellular metabolism.
In addition, EMD Millipore released the new version of multiplex data analysis package, Milliplex Analyst 5.1 software, one of the robust data analysis tools available for Luminex platform-based multiplexed immunoassays.
